Local Pubs & Restaurants

WE HAVE an abundance of fantastic places to eat and drink, right here on our doorstep. Yorkshire produce is the best, and we want everyone to know it. Here is a small selection of venues within four miles of the cottage:

The Blacksmiths Inn, Westow. Our local pub just a few yards away is great for a drink or two, and they also serve delicious meals at decent prices. Its an attractive beamed bar with traditional furnishings, woodburner in a big inglenook, two linked rooms making up a main dining area. During the week they do fish and chip takeaway!

The Bay Horse, Burythorpe. This is a charming dining pub with a warm welcome from the genuinely friendly staff for both locals and visitors. The linked rooms are cosy, relaxed and civilised. Real ales, good wines by the glass, enjoyable modern cooking, and a cosy fire.

The Jolly Farmer, Leavening. This is a great local pub situated in the heart of the village and is well known for its real ale and food. It has a friendly welcoming atmosphere typical to North Yorkshire, a games/family room, restaurant, and beer terrace.

The Market Place Restaurant. A beautiful old building, located in the heart of the Market Place in Malton, the restaurant offers the finest wines and superb culinary meals using locally produced ingredients. There is a great sofa area if you just want to realx and have an evening drink.

The Star Inn, Harome. London celebrities often eat here at this Michelin star restaurant. Traditional North Yorkshire fare and locally sourced food on the menu. Its a delight to eat here, and bookings are essential.
